How to take your horse's measurements to choose the withers opening:
-
Marjoman offers 3 basic wither openings:
- regular (28cm)
- wide (32cm)
- extra large (35cm)
-
But the Marjoman trees being thermoformable, the size can range from 28cm to 36cm, each centimeter.
-
To find the right withers opening for your horse:
- take a wire of 42cm
- mold it to the shape of your horse's withers where the front of the saddle should rest, about 5cm behind the scapula
- measure the width at the ends of the wire: this measurement in centimeters is the withers opening
- you may repeat this operation 40cm behind the first measurement
You can see how to perform these steps in pictures in the photos above.
-
You can transfer the shape of the wire to a piece of paper and send us a photo of it by email (noting the measurements found on it) or the original by post. Be careful to respect the right/left side of the wire on the paper.
-
You can also send us photos of the horse, naked, motionless, on flat ground, visible up to the hooves:
front, back, profile, 3/4 front and 3/4 back, and a view of the back from above the croup.
Please also indicate race, age, height and gender.
